How we started
The idea of the Fast Food Kitchen was born out of necessity. Which of course is the mother of all inventive ideas. We, like so many of our friends and family, were finding ourselves more and more busy which left us with very little time for the things that really matter - Good health and a balanced life through the mind, body Spirit and heart. We knew that our busy lifestyle was asking a lot of our bodies and we wanted to give ourselves the healthiest food possible.
Fueled by a burning desire to live our full potential, we began committing to creatively solving the problem of eating healthy on-the-go. We pieced together recipes and health research that we had been studying for decades and created a menu game plan that would allow us to eat healthy on-the-go.
Our menu plan includes a plant-based diet featuring lots of raw fruit, raw veggies, earthy veggie smoothies, fruit & veggie smoothies, cooked beans, sprouted beans & seeds, almonds, walnuts, steamed veggies, steam fried & steam sautéed meals & so much more.

We do not worry so much about what we cannot eat as we keep our focus on the abundance of nutrient dense foods that we can eat. Our goal is to eat healthy every day and we have found that by developing our Fast Food Kitchen, this is not only possible but enjoyable! We strategize as to when and how much time we are preparing fresh organic farmers market produce so that we can maximize on eating healthy and minimize on our time in the kitchen.
We have even gone so far as to time how long it takes for us to make a particular recipe and we break down our recipes into 3 categories:
Fast Food - can be any healthy meal that you make that can be eaten over a number of days. These recipes may take from 10 minutes to 60 minutes to prepare. Once cooked and properly stored, these meals take minimal time to heat up (and we do not even own a microwave). Some of our favorites include curried lentils, Indonesian vegetable curry and savory pinto beans which pair perfectly with fresh guacamole.
Super Fast Food - these are recipes that take 9 minutes or less, yield several servings and are powerhouses in the nutrition department. Two words: amazing smoothies!
Lightning Fast Food - these recipes take minimal prep and can be created in less than 5 minutes, yielding several servings and are packed with nutrient-dense health benefits. This is where we take advantage of pre-washed, prepackaged organic fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds and superfoods. These ready-to-use organic foods are found in frozen or fresh form and are available from trusted retailers.
